Sarah’s musical journey began at the age of five, when she first fell in love with the piano. Through perseverance, support, and passion, music grew to be a core part of her life. Ten years later, she received her level 10 history and harmony certificates, and is now working towards her level 10 practical exam. Sarah has experimented with trumpet and saxophone, and at one time had the honour of being lead tenor sax in the school’s senior jazz band. In her free time, Sarah enjoys dancing, debate and math. Sarah loves seeing students develop into young musicians and find their own musical style, and she believes each student has unique talents. She values the freedom music has to offer, but also stresses the importance of technique. To Sarah, music is not just vibrations through the air, but an escape from the real world. It can both connect diverse cultures across the world, as well as characterize unique communities within our society.
