Sydney is a musician and educator who is passionate about helping students grow in confidence, skills, and enjoyment of music. She began learning piano at the age of four and completed her RCM Level 10 Certificate. Sydney later continued her love for music and studied saxophone at the University of Toronto, earning a Bachelor of Music in Education, and went on to complete a Master of Arts in Child Study and Education at the University of Toronto. Sydney is an active conductor with several years of experience leading adult community bands and military bands. She is also an active military musician, having performed with The Queen’s Own Rifles of Canada in Toronto and currently with The King’s Own Calgary Regiment. These experiences have strengthened her love of teamwork, discipline, and making music together.
Sydney believes that music lessons should be engaging, encouraging, and thoughtfully structured. She focuses on building strong foundations while adapting lessons to each student’s learning style and pace. With her background in child development and music education, she strives to create a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable, motivated, and proud of their progress. Her goal is to help every student develop a lifelong appreciation for music.
