My mother was a very big influence on my musical journey. She always regretted not learning to play the piano, so it was very important to her that I learned. I started to learn piano at the age of seven, and made it a goal to become a piano teacher by the time I was 12. I am very glad she guided me in that direction. I could not see myself in any other profession and have been teaching piano since 2016. I am currently working towards my Level 10 RCM.
I love stickers, playing games with my students like race across the piano, using dice to see what measure we should play first, and "What Key is it Mr. Note?" I don’t know if students realize how much they teach me in how to help better understand the best way to teach them in a way they will understand. Everyone learns differently, and I think it’s wonderful to get to be apart of that journey.
Learning is a beautiful thing. It doesn’t matter how old a person is, it takes time, patience, and dedication. Anyone can learn a skill, but to become truly successful in your efforts is like taking pieces of a puzzle and fitting them together to see the entire picture. Once that happens, the sky is the limit to what can be achieved!
