(1) However, actively studying and learning music can lead to improvements in cognitive and academic abilities. On a biological level, actively engaging in musical training creates valuable connections in the brain. The senses and reward system are engaged as you produce music. Musical education benefits individual development across the lifespan. Research over the last two decades suggests that musical training can promote brain plasticity into adulthood!
