Raili began piano lessons when she was 3 years old. She loved piano so much that it became a part of her daily routine, taking lessons all through her schooling years, attaining her Royal Conservatory of Music grade 8 certification, along with studying RCM theory and voice lessons.
Raili continued to pursue her enjoyment of music, obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts music degree, majoring in piano and voice, and learned to play violin, exploring her love of the string instrument family. Raili also trained as a Music For Young Children (MYC) teacher, which provides a great foundation for teaching young children with fun, age-appropriate methods that help develop not only their ability to play and read music, but also cognitive, physical and social skills.
Raili has had many piano teachers throughout her music education, and she remembers feeling so honoured to help out with being a substitute teacher for them when needed, and ever since then she knew she wanted to teach. Raili has 18 years of experience teaching piano lessons to all ages, from 3 years old to adults. Raili enjoys making a personal connection with her students and remembers each student and family she has had the privilege of teaching.
One of her favourite sayings “Music is the language of the heart and soul”, where there are no words, there is always music. What a special journey to share with students. Raili enjoys hearing her students play, seeing their musical growth, playing duets together and sharing her love of one of her favourite composers, Chopin! When Raili is not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family, two daughters, and friends making meaningful connections and memories.
