Sorena Cook, ARCT

Sorena has been taking piano lessons since she was four years old, and she has completed her ARCT Diploma in Piano Performance with the Royal Conservatory of Music. Sorena has participated in music festivals, including the Calgary Performing Arts Festival and the Highwood Lions Music Festival among many others, earning provincial recommendations, scholarships and esteemed performance opportunities. She began teaching in July 2022. 
 
Sorena welcomes young students with a range of goals, whether they wish to pursue the RCM curriculum or enjoy playing pop songs. For whatever reason a student is taking piano lessons, her main goal in teaching is to foster a love of music by making learning piano fun, establishing a positive student-teacher relationship and helping to develop good practice habits. By teaching piano, Sorena hopes to share her musical experience and passion with others.
 
Outside of teaching and practicing piano, Sorena enjoys reading, photography and school. She is also working on a combined degree in biology/psychology at the University of Calgary.
